Justice Department Removes Report Finding Right-Wing Radicals Commit ‘Significantly More’ Terrorism

The US justice department has removed a research report from its public online portal that determined far-right extremists have murdered many more people than any other domestic terrorist groups. This action took place just a short time after a assailant murdered prominent right-wing figure Charlie Kirk.

Report Vanished Amid Controversy

The report, titled “Key Findings on Domestic Terrorism”, vanished from the justice department online platform in mid-September. As noted by researchers monitoring the resource, the document was live until September 12.

The research opened with powerful data: “From 1990 onward, right-wing extremists have perpetrated a greater number of politically driven killings than far-left or religious extremist groups. These include over 200 incidents that ended over 500 victims. Meanwhile, far-left radicals were responsible for a smaller number of events that led to less than 100 fatalities.”

Charges Filed in Kirk Murder

The suspect, young, has been charged with the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors are seeking the maximum sentence. Following the shooting, Republican leaders and other conservative figures blamed “radical left” for the tragedy.

Research Conclusions Support External Studies

The DOJ research arm study, which was based on extensive historical of evidence, stood as one of the most thorough official evaluations of domestic terrorism. It found that “militant, nationalistic, ethnonationalist violent extremism has increased in the United States” and that “the volume of far-right attacks continues to exceed every other forms of terrorism”.

The conclusions mirror independent analysis, including a report from the a Washington-based think tank that reviewed nearly 900 acts of terrorism between 1994 and 2020. It concluded that “Far-right attacks and plots represent the majority of all extremist acts in the United States in modern history.”

Expert Testimony Support the Evidence

congressional statements from the past, experts such as an authority on hate groups informed Congress that “evidence on acts of extremism demonstrates that it is the far right that is fueling domestic threats in the US”.

“It would be incorrect to claim there is absolutely no attacks from left-wing groups,” she continued, “but rather not on the scale or as deadly as what is originating with right-wing extremists.”

Movement History

The founder had grown TPUSA into a influential right-leaning student group. He spoke at last year’s party gathering and was speaking to young attendees when he was shot.

Federal authorities has not responded to inquiries about the removal of the study.
