🔗 Share this article Exploring an Bizarre Steam Demo: Guiding a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and players have encountered plenty of entertaining indie games. However, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure lets you play a protagonist that is actually a turd trying to make its way to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop." How you interact is straightforward: you only need a single jump button. Throughout numerous levels, encounter mini-bosses and visit a shop to acquire skins for your fecal avatar. Execute your movements with caution, since one wrong move means starting over. Leap on floating orbs to launch yourself upward, cross fragile ledges, and interact with triggers to unlock new areas. Collect currency and use them on tougher stages in which gameplay intensifies. Visually, the experience features neon level designs and a killer music score. Its minimalist art featuring morphing basic polygons evokes memories of players of old favorites like Earthbound. Although hard to recall other games where you play as a coiled turd, video games have long incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can craft grenades from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references shows up extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth. Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive awards, like taking top honors at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is accessible currently on Steam, with the complete version planned to debut on PC this November.
